Some controversial late calls can’t distract from an overall Warriors performance that was excruciatingly subpar as the gritty Knights advanced at Eden Park.
Thanks Will for mustering the energy to put this up tonight and also everything you and the twl team have done all year, win or lose every week is a bit better having you guys break it down. next year?
Well said mate, I second that. Will, really appreciate the way you get these up so soon after the game, you go above and beyond every week and it is appreciated.
No argument with anything you've said there Will. As much as I was screaming at the officials with their "creative interpretations", walking back from the ground I actually wasn't as gutted as I usually am after a loss because we just weren't good enough to get it done tonight. I'll never question the efforts of our lads, but I think the last five weeks have shown the limitations of the squad we were able to put on the field...especially in the halves and centres (excluding Leka).
I do think we should be proud of what we achieved this season, despite petering out at the end. Any team with our injury list has no right to be anywhere near the top 4 and we were only points differential off being the minor premiers. Our young boys will be better and more experienced next season, fingers crossed Boyd stays fit (or that we have an actual halfback as backup) and find us some actual centres of quality who can stay on the pitch.
I hear you. Last week wasn't so bad for me, because Herbie Farnsworth put on an absolute clinic but I was holding onto the last straws of hope that we might have pulled a Knight's shaped rabbit out of the hat...Now it's time to use the summer to recharge the batteries before we go around again next year!
Not the ending to the season we were all expecting. How did the halves get it so wrong 2 weeks in a row? What happened to our attack in these last 2 games, it's a mystery?! Great all year then leave their worst performances for the last 2 games
The whole year the outside backs have been questioned, Webby has always said he trusts them to do the job. Turns out they weren't up to it. (That's my salty moment). Ali is not a long term option, Charnze is a fullback only. Pompey is not the answer. Hopefully Anderson takes one center and Linnane the other.
Hopefully you do a few more pods to dissect the season Will. Love your work. Cheers, Mike

Our pleasure mate, thanks for the support and involvement all year ❤️

Now to begin the stages of grief!
I started my grieving process last weekend after the loss to the Dolphins. It was obvious then.
Thank you for your point about the injuries. Very true !
