The Warriors navigated a potential banana skin game in terrible conditions at Kogarah Oval to come away with a scrappy yet professional 30-12 victory over winless St George Illawarra on Saturday.
The six-tries-to-two win, just their third in 11 visits to the venue, rarely looked in doubt — but it came despite the Warriors uncharacteristically finishing on the debit side in several key stats areas.

But the Warriors’ forward might came to the fore, winning the run metres (1,790 to 1,689) and post-contact metres (566 to 556) counts despite enjoying less ball, while they averaged 40.69 metres per set to the Saints’ 38.39.
The Warriors iced their chances, with five of six line-breaks resulting in tries. The Dragons made only two line-breaks in total.
The Warriors have now been in the top two at the end of nine of the 12 rounds so far in 2026. The club has only been in first or second on the ladder at the end of 25 rounds in their 32-season history.
