Report: RTS headed for Super League
The Warriors club legend is set to join Wakefield Trinity on a multi-year deal.
Warriors winger Roger Tuivasa-Sheck will reportedly join Super League outfit Wakefield Trinity Wildcats at the end of the season.
English outlet Love Rugby League and Australia’s CODE Sports both published the surprising news this morning.
Off-contract with the Warriors at the end of 2026, Tuivasa-Sheck — who turns 33 in June — was rumoured to be courting a move back to Sydney. Replacing fellow dual international Mark Nawaqanitawase at the Roosters, where Kiwis and All Blacks rep RTS won a grand final in 2013, seemed the most likely outcome.
Signing Tuivasa-Sheck, albeit in the twilight of his career, would rank among the biggest Super League recruitment coups in recent times.
Coached by former Great Britain international Daryl Powell, Wakefield Trinity qualified for the Super League playoffs in sixth last season and have won three of their five games so far in 2026.
Tuivasa-Sheck would be linking with former longtime Warriors teammate Jazz Tevaga at the Wildcats, while the club also currently has ex-Warriors half Mason Lino and NSW Cup forward Isaiah Vagana — son of Joe — on their books.
The prospect of Tuivasa-Sheck leaving the Warriors at the end of the season was foreshadowed by reports Melbourne and Kiwis winger Will Warbrick is close to inking a contract to come home, while solid ex-Storm three-quarter Grant Anderson is reported to be a potential player swap option for Broncos-bound Mitch Barnett.
Ex-Gold Coast tryscoring machine Alofiana Khan-Pereira arrived at the Warriors over the summer and is also pushing for an NRL wing call-up, as is former Souths lower-grade flyer Haizyn Mellars.
The Warriors’ only Dally M Medal winner (2018), Tuivasa-Sheck won his fourth Simon Mannering Medal in 2025, became just the 13th player to bring up 150 NRL games for the Warriors in Round 2 and is one of only two players (with Mannering) to captain the club in 100 first-grade matches.

No question it is a loss.
RTS has been one of our very best over a long period of time by way of his own performance on both sides of the ball, but also robust positive influence on the rising generation. He has been one to set the bar for what professionalism looks like on a daily basis. It is fitting reward for him that he can pick up a solid payment in £s on the path to evential retirement.
The silver lining is that it naturally makes way for new talent to rise, whether it be Warbrick or one of the young guns now in NSW Cup. And of course there is a better prospect of him leaving with another Premiership ring to send him off than in any of the other years he has given us.
Whatever the season's outcome Roger will leave with our sincere thanks and gratitude.
Roger to go out as a Warriors priemership winner to cap off his NRL career. The stars are aligning.
