NRLW Rd 3: Warriors wāhine back on track courtesy of Cowboys caning
Winger Lavinia Tauhalaliku scored four tries in the 42-4 victory at Mount Smart.
The Warriors NRLW side bounced back from a heavy Round 2 defeat in Canberra to record their second win of the 2026 season, a 42-4 thrashing of North Queensland at Go Media Stadium on Saturday.
The home side led 14-0 at haltime and put the blowtorch on after the break, adding six more tries.
Winger Lavinia Tauhalaliku was the chief benefactor with a four-try haul, opening the scoring in third minute and bagging the last three four-pointers of the match — all three of which were laid on by centre Stacey Waaka.
Tauhalaliku, who ran for a game-high 211 metres, also set up Waaka’s second try will a long sideline bust.
Promoted to start at hooker, Jasmin Huriwai topped the Warriors’ tackle count (22) and scored her maiden NRL try. Ivana Lauitiiti powered over for a try and last week’s two-try debutant, winger Ocean Tierney, also dotted down.
The Warriors head to Sydney in Round 4 to take on Parramatta.
